CULVER CITY, CA – May 17, 2017 – Sony Movie Channel (SMC) presents a June programming lineup packed with explosive epics, star-studded premieres, and more, airing in primetime all month long at 8 p.m. ET and 10 p.m. ET.

The roster is headlined by a Jean-Claude Van Damme week, as SMC kicks off summer with a six-day event putting the spotlight on some of the action icon’s hardest-hitting films every night at 8 p.m. ET from Monday, June 19 to Friday, June 23, culminating in a 12-film marathon on Saturday, June 24, starting at 4 a.m. ET. Highlights include NOWHERE TO RUN with Rosanna Arquette, and MAXIMUM RISK with Natasha Henstridge, (June 19); THE ORDER with Charlton Heston, and ASSASSINATION GAMES (June 20); UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: DAY OF RECKONING with Dolph Lundgren, and UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: THE RETURN with Michael Jai White (June 21); KNOCK OFF with Rob Schneider, and DOUBLE TEAM with Dennis Rodman (June 22); 6 BULLETS and THE SHEPHERD (June 23); and THE HARD CORPS with Vivica A. Fox, and SECOND IN COMMAND (June 24).

SMC’s June slate will also feature five channel premieres airing throughout the month at 8 p.m. ET, kicking off with Martin Lawrence as a conman going undercover as a cop to pull off a diamond heist in BLUE STREAK, with Luke Wilson and Dave Chappelle, on Friday, June 2. Other premieres include Bill Murray in Ivan Reitman’s quintessential 1979 summer camp comedy MEATBALLS (June 3); Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger in the Revolutionary War epic THE PATRIOT (June 4); Sam Worthington and Elizabeth Banks in the 2012 crime caper MAN ON A LEDGE (June 9); and Sean Penn and Esai Morales in the 1983 reform school thriller BAD BOYS (June 12).

And SMC pays tribute to the 1977 Peter Benchley thriller THE DEEP, with a special 40TH Anniversary broadcast at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 17—the date of its original release. The underwater thriller stars Nick Nolte and Jacqueline Bisset as a couple hunting for treasure in Bermuda. The idyllic getaway soon becomes a nightmare, however, when their exploration of a treacherous shipwreck puts them in the path of a deadly drug lord (Louis Gossett Jr.). Robert Shaw and Eli Wallach also star. The film was written by Benchley, based on his 1976 novel of the same name, and featured disco legend Donna Summer on the Golden Globe-nominated theme “Down Deep Inside.”

  SMC Celebrates Memorial Day with Military Mysteries Featuring Kirk Douglas in THE FINAL COUNTDOWN, and Denzel Washington in A SOLDIER’S STORY

CULVER CITY, CA – Tuesday, April 25, 2017 – Sony Movie Channel presents a thrilling lineup of mysteries, mayhem, and intrigue, airing in primetime throughout the month. DirecTV and AT&T U-Verse HD subscribers will be able to enjoy a taste of the festivities with a free preview event, giving them full access to Sony Movie Channel’s extensive programming library from Monday, May 1, through Sunday, May 7. During this week, the premiere of CHARLIE’S ANGELS (May 7 at 7 p.m. ET) will be offered among other blockbuster hits.

Highlights of the month of mystery include themed blocks every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday night, featuring Denzel Washington in DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS (May 3 at 12:10 a.m. ET), Kevin Bacon in WILD THINGS (May 11 at 10 p.m. ET), Sandra Bullock in THE NET (May 18 at 10 p.m. ET), Tommy Lee Jones in IN THE ELECTRIC MIST (May 21 at 7 p.m. ET), and more; as well as classic Westerns and Film Noir favorites each Wednesday starting at 8 p.m. ET, with Orson Welles in THE LADY FROM SHANGHAI (May 10), James Stewart in TWO RODE TOGETHER (May 17), Glenn Ford in EXPERIMENT IN TERROR (May 24), and Fred MacMurray in FACE OF A FUGITIVE (May 3), among others.

The block will also feature a slate of premieres starring some of Hollywood’s biggest names, airing throughout the month. The roster is headlined by Samuel L. Jackson as a psychotic killer who takes troubled man Luke Wilson on a ride he’ll never forget in the 2012 thriller MEETING EVIL, on May 2 at 10 p.m. ET. Other premieres include Drew Barrymore and Bill Murray in the high-octane adventure CHARLIE’S ANGELS on May 7 at 7 p.m. ET; and Michael Caine and Jude Law in Kenneth Branaugh’s twist-filled caper SLEUTH on May 12 at 10 p.m. ET.

On Tuesday, May 16, at 10 p.m. ET, SMC pays tribute to beloved actor Bill Paxton in one of his most celebrated roles, starring as Dale Dixon—an Arkansas sheriff caught in the middle of a big time manhunt when a gang of violent criminals rolls into his small town, in the 1992 hit ONE FALSE MOVE. The film was co-written by Billy Bob Thornton, who also stars, and was widely praised for its character portrayals and sharp suspense.

  And SMC salutes the Armed Forces with a Memorial Day two-pack on Monday, May 29 at 10 p.m. ET, starring Kirk Douglas as a naval captain whose crew is transported back in time to the hours before the bombing of Pearl Harbor in THE FINAL COUNTDOWN, with Martin Sheen. Then, Howard E. Rollins investigates the death of an African-American sergeant on a segregated military base in the 1984 WWII caper A SOLDIER’S STORY, with Denzel Washington in one of his earliest roles, at 11:50 p.m. ET.

  CULVER CITY, CA – Tuesday, April 26, 2016 – Sony Movie Channel sizzles with a May programming roster packed with steamy thrillers, crime classics, murder mysteries and more. This month’s lineup includes a Robert Rodriguez two-pack featuring DESPERADO and ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO; network premieres of OUT FOR A KILL, starring Steven Seagal, and the original 1976 John Carpenter classic ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13; and a night of adventure starring Sean Connery in FIRST KNIGHT, and Antonio Banderas in THE MASK OF ZORRO; headlined by a WILD THINGS weekend block featuring all four films in the fan favorite franchise.

 OUT FOR A KILL (2003)—Network Premiere—Mon., May 2 at 10 p.m. ET

Framed for murder by the Chinese Mafia, professor Robert Burns (Steven Seagal) must join forces with the DEA to clear his name and bring the drug lords to justice.

Adventure Block—Sat., May 7 at 10 p.m. ET

Cinema’s most legendary heroes come to life in this epic block, starring Antonio Banderas as a thief who helps Anthony Hopkins battle an evil Don in THE MASK OF ZORRO. And Lancelot (Richard Gere) finds his loyalty to Arthur (Sean Connery) tested when he falls for Lady Guinevere (Julia Ormond) in FIRST KNIGHT, at 12:30 a.m. ET.

ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 (1976)—Network Premiere—Mon., May 9 at 10 p.m. ET

Violent thugs descend upon a closing precinct, forcing cops and cons to work together to take down the vengeful gang in horror legend John Carpenter’s gritty sophomore effort.

Robert Rodriguez Two-Pack—Fri., May 13 at 10 p.m. ET

Antonio Banderas stars as gun-slinging guitarist El Mariachi in a pair of Robert Rodriguez classics, seeking to avenge his lover’s (Salma Hayek) murder in DESPERADO. Then, El Mariachi teams up with an FBI man (Johnny Depp) to defeat a drug lord in ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO, at 11:55 p.m. ET.

WILD THINGS Weekend Block—Sat., May 28 at 3 p.m. ET

Take a walk on the wild side with SMC in a rare television event, as the network presents a special WILD THINGS weekend block, airing all four films in the cult classic franchise back-to-back. The complete WILD THINGS weekend lineup is as follows:

WILD THINGS II (2004)—5 p.m. ET

An insurance investigator (Isaiah Washington) gets caught in a tangled web of death and deceit, while on the case of a teen claiming to be a murdered millionaire’s only heir.

When her stepfather refuses to hand over her dead mother’s multi-million dollar diamonds, a devious teen schemes to take back her inheritance as two cops close in.

WILD THINGS: FOURSOME (2010)—8:20 p.m. ET

A NASCAR driver’s demise leads a detective (John Schneider) to a twisted conclusion, as the racer’s son and three sinful sirens betray each other for the dead man’s millions.
